1.0 Release

Actually development has been done since just after the last post, I just haven’t had a chance to write about it here. There’s a downloadable demo in the ‘downloads’ section. I got a lot of the environment done and spent most of my time working on environmental effects and tweaking the engine to fix bugs or add new features, some but not all of which worked out.

I did not get much game-play done. I wanted to make a new character model (Link) and animate him so that I could add new movements beyond the current model. This proved to be too large a task though and it never got done, so there isn’t much you can actually do besides explore.

The demo is a mostly complete map of Hyrule that you can wander freely in first or third person with a gamepad, or in first person with the keyboard an mouse. Have fun!

There is a lot of information in the ‘documentation’ section including the 30-page paper I wrote outlining the entire process I went through.

For now development is on hold, though I would like to return to this project. I am still working on the new environment manager on the side, targeted for TGE-1.4. After that is done, I would like to continue with the Zelda project.
